If you don't build systems or are not a computer enthusiast or terminologies simply bore you, this post is not for you.

shuttle p35sp2
priprioitary box and heatsink makes for limitations of aftermarket selections.
I've built 4 or so systems from "the ground up" as it were.
I decided to go for this bare bone as it looked cutesy

Well, instead of a q9550 which I initially wanted, I had to go with an e8500
The heatsink, being built in, would not have given me much breathing room for heat disapation.
so, instead of a 95w, 65w would be much better.
For anyone wishing to build a sff with a qc cpu, go for one that is at least 15l 12w 9h.

As of now, there are still few apps taking full advantage of 4c while much has adapted the 2c which makes the 2cs more preferable. Should 4cs be more prevalent as the 2c taking over 1c in the market shares, it would behoove programmers to utilize the extra cores. There is an 8c on the horizon.

My latest system:
shuttle p35sp2 pro LGA775
e8500 wolfdale 3.16ghz 1333fsb
kingston hyper-x 4gb 4-4-4-12 8--mhz pc2-6400
western digital Velociraptor 300gb hd
Nvidia 9400gt pci-e16
pioneer dvd burner SATA

That hd makes my 500gb wd 7200rpm look like a horse racing a mustang at full speed.

P.S. the new I7 core is not worth paying attention at the moment as it uses a whole different socket. Which means, new mobo, new processor, new set of ram ddr3, etc etc
